M.O.T.Y. for 2014

At the January meeting, both the Modeler of the Year and the Member of the Year for 2014 was announced, and both were awarded to club member Joe LoMusio. This was the fifth year in a row that Joe has won the Modeler of the Year award. He entered at least one model in the Masters Division every month for 2014, and placed in 9 of the 12 months – two Firsts, four Seconds, and three Thirds. Of those entries, he won four Theme awards and two Judges Choice awards. At our January 2015 meeting, Joe’s “Nieuports of the Great War” (a collection of 21 Nieuports in 1:48 scale) was voted the best Judges Choice award entry for the year. Also, his Tanks of the Great War (a collection of 6 World War One tanks in 1:72 scale) was voted best Theme award entry for the year. Joe is also our club’s Webmaster, and along with being the only member from our club to go to the IPMS/USA Nationals in Hampton Roads, Virginia in 2014 (where he won four national awards), he mustered enough points to also win the Member of the Year award for 2014 for the first time. Joe also maintains his own website model gallery - World War One Modeler, and has a modeling blog - the FE2b Pulpit.
