GETTING TO KNOW . . .
Terrry Baylor has been a member of IPMSOC since 2011 and is one of our World War One airplane enthusiasts. Terry was born in Bloomington, Illinois on January 29, 1945. He and his wife Shanda live in Huntington Beach. Along with his wife, who is the daughter of Bill Lear (Founder of Lear Jet), Terry launched Lear Baylor Inc. where they manufacture Electric Boats, as well as aerospace and automotive tooling. Terry is an experieced inventor, engineer, machinist and draftsman. His work and toolings have appeared all around the country, most notably in Disneyland. Terry is also an accomplished musician, having played the Trumpet professionally and recreationally. He once toured as a member of the band traveling with the Righteous Brothers, and remains a close friend with Bill Medley. Terry enlisted in the US Army in 1966 but was given an Honorable Discarge after a heart murmur was discovered. Terry, who is also a pilot, has been modeling since he was a boy. His favorite subjects are WWI biplanes and race planes. He said, "When I was a kid, I was trying to see how many models I could get hanging from the ceiling in my bedroom, but now it's slow and serious."
