July 2026 Monthly Meeting News

The July meeting was hot and fun with lots of participation from the members and many quality models on the tables!

OCIPMS member and long-time friend of the modeling industry, Herb Deeks, recently passed away. OCIPMS President David Frederick made a tribute to Herb with help from Steve Taylor, who provided the pictures. David presented the tribute to the club members at the meeting.

Mark Deliduka presented his latest acquisition: a ModelSvit 1/72 scale Antonov An-225 Mriya (heaviest aircraft ever built)– the picture below shows Mark demonstrating how to wrestle with the fuselage for proper alignment.

the club had a special competition for “Star Wars-Star Guard fighter” resin models provided by Karl Maas. A gift certificate to Brookhurst Hobbies was given for the best paintjob, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 11 models were entered with Karl Maas as the judge. We had great participation from the club members for this special event!

The monthly model contest theme was 250 YEAR CELEBRATION- Any subject from Concord and Lexington to present. Most patriotic American entry wins.  See the phots below for all the models entered.  Contest results: July contest results
